Energy Committee
The Energy Committee is a temporary committee formed by the Selectboard that is responsible for advising the Selectboard and Town Manager on issues related to Town energy with a specific focus on reducing the Town's energy consumption and costs.
Past projects include updating Town streetlights, upgrading the Town Hall heating control systems and working with Efficiency Vermont to replace outdated lighting at Town Hall, including installing state-of-the-art LED parking lot lights. For Fiscal Year 2010 Town Meeting appropriated a total of $50,000 for energy efficiency projects.

The Energy Committee consists of members appointed by the Selectboard. Current members include:
- Alan Benoit, chair
- Rabbi Michael Cohen
- Michael Kilburn (Selectboard)
- Lee Krohn (Town Planning Director)
- John O'Keefe (Town Manager)
The Selectboard appoints Burr and Burton Academy students from Manchester to Town boards and commissions. The following students are appointed to the Energy Committee as voting members:
- Michaela Madden (term expires June 30, 2011)
- Alina Sidorova (term exipres June 30, 2011)
