Downtown Wi-Fi Project

In the Fall of 2011, the Town (in partnership with Summit Technologies) installed eight wi-fi access points (also known as APs) in the downtown commercial core. The system is an open network and available for public use. The network is called Free WiFi.

The network is connected to broadband internet at two locations: The Northshire Bookstore and Manchester Discount Beverages. In addition to these two local businesses, the following businesses have generously agreed to host APs, and supply the necessary power.

  • Famous Footwear
  • Mac's Convenience Store
  • Kilburn's Convenience Store
  • Al Ducci's Italian Pantry
  • Magic Sleigh
  • Manchester Sports

Click on the map below to view the network. Please direct any questions about the network to Town Manager John O'Keefe at j.okeefe@manchester-vt.gov or (802) 362-1313, option 2.
