Health Officers are responsible for investigating possible public health hazards and risks within the Town of Manchester, taking action to prevent, remove or destroy any such hazards, taking action to mitigate significant public health risks and enforcing health laws, rules and permit conditions.

For emergencies, please call 9-1-1 or the Police Department Dispatch Center at (802) 362-2022.  The Dispatch Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Health Officers are nominated by the Selectboard and appointed by the State of Vermont Public Health Commissioner. Current Health Officers are:

  • Vacant, Health Officer
  • David Sheldon, Deputy Health Officer
  • Traci Mulligan, Deputy Health Officer (animal bites only)
