Planning and Zoning Office

The Planning and Zoning Office is responsible for short- and long-range planning, issuing building permits, grant writing, managing community-wide land use, environmental affairs and natural resource protection, and economic development, and coordinating land use reviews with local, regional, state, and federal agencies.  The Planning Director works closely with many Town boards and commissions.

For emergencies, please call 9-1-1 or the Police Department Dispatch Center at (802) 362-2022.  The Dispatch Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lee Krohn, AICP serves as the Planning Director. He is also appointed by the Selectboard as Zoning Administrator; his current term expires June 30, 2012. Lee has worked for the Town since 1989. He has earned membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), is a past president of the Vermont Planners Association, and presently serves as an assistant Professional Development Officer for the New England Chapter of the American Planning Association. Lee is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, the Duke University School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, and the Vermont Leadership Institute.
