Date:
Tue, 12/08/2009 - 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Agenda:

1. Approve minutes

2. New Projects?

3. Other Business

Minutes:

Present: Alan Benoit, Cathy Stewart, Iana Bach, Tori Webber; also Planning Director Lee Krohn, Monica Stillman.

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M. The minutes of 11/17/09 were approved by consensus.

The Commission had reviewed the various rights, roles, and responsibilities available under state statute. The original Commission believed strongly that the best role was to ‘do good work’, with no need to enter the development review process given that sufficient other local and state parties covered those issues. Present members share that belief.

Ideas, interests, and topics were discussed. The constellation of allied entities was reviewed, and all agreed it would help to learn what others are doing before launching our own efforts. Members agreed to each pursue a topic and/or entity and report back at the next meeting.

Benoit: Nature Conservancy (invasive species)

Webber: Forest Service (bats, air quality, fisheries, etc)

Stewart: trails

Bach: conserved lands

Stillman also offered to research wetland mapping

A possible project would be to create a master conservation map.

Next meeting: Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 4:00 P.M., to report back.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:50 P.M.

Respectfully submitted by Lee Krohn.
