Planning Commission Meeting

Present: Chair John Ringwood, Craig Hunter, Greg Boshart, Steve Grossfeld, Megan LaValley; Clare Kelley, Tristan Poplar; also Planning Director Lee Krohn, and others per sign-in sheet

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M.

Motion Hunter, seconded by Grossfeld, to approve the minutes of 1/25/10; OK unanimously.

Preparation for Town Meeting: it was agreed to send the draft letter reviewed previously to all of the local and regional newspapers for publication in the next two weeks, with one minor correction, and signed by the Planning Commission. It was inadvertently published in today’s Bennington Banner with Krohn’s name attached. The approved legal warning for Town Meeting was reviewed; the relevant map showing the proposed C-1 boundary change is attached to the warning, will be published in the Town Report, and will apparently be available for review on voting day. The board asked Krohn to lead off the discussion at Town Meeting.

Upcoming meeting schedule, and other informational items were discussed.

DRB progress in the Aubuchon matter was reviewed; as discussed before, the PC agreed to consider revisiting the zoning boundaries in the C-2 district in that vicinity, but will wait until the Aubuchon matter is resolved at last. Also discussed briefly was the Town’s concept of pursuing its own economic development initiative, given that regional organizations have not generally taken an active role here.

The meeting was then adjourned at 7:45 P.M
